ISN wants to instill Sports Science at grassroot level #SMSS2015

"Sports medical science and technology is one field related to the performance of athletes. We have the responsibility to build on the knowledge in the form of research with the cooperation of institutes of higher learning locally and abroad.

"Findings from the conference will benefit not only athletes but should also be relevant to the people in general," he said when met by Bernama after his special session with participants at Marina Putrajaya, here Thursday.

A total of 33 local and foreign speakers were involved in the conference which began on Monday.

The conference which is a main event of ISN was attended by 470 participants comprising coaches, administrators, managers, sport association representatives, corporate companies, government-linked companies, institutions of higher learning and non-governmental organisations (NGO).

"There were many eye opening subjects brought up through the working papers at the conference, and we need pore over the subjects for applications by athletes and coaches as well," he said.

Ramlan said based on the technical research carried out by sport science experts, ISN will try to bring the new findings through practical solution which could be delivered to athletes and ISN staff themselves or share with ISN Satellite Centre with other countries.
