KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's number two women's squash player, Low Wee Wern moved into the quarter-finals of the Windy City Open 2015 after a five set thriller in Chicago, United States, on Sunday.
She will accompany world number one, Datuk Nicol David, who booked a place in the quarter-finals, after easily beating Heba El Torky of Egypt 11-5, 11-4 and 11-7 in just 27 minutes on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Penangite defeated vateran Rachael Grinham of Australia, 7-11, 11-2, 3-11, 11-9 and 11-6 in a five-set match which lasted 58 minutes.
"Glad to pull through a 3-2 win against Rachael Grinham today! Rachael played really well. I had to hang in there right until the end.
"Will be playing Raneem el Weleily in the quarter-finals tomorrow! Two Malaysians in the quarter-finals!," said Wee Wern in her Facebook account.
Second seed Raneem El Welily of Egypt disposed her compatriot Omneya Abdel Kawy 11-7, 7-11, 11-9 and 11-8 to book her berth in the last eight.
