PETALING JAYA: Malaysian squash queen Nicol David put a bad start to the year firmly behind her after winning the Cleveland Classic in style.
The world No.1 started the year uncharacteristically poorly, crashing out in the quarter-finals of the Tournament of Champions (TOC) in New York last month.
But on Tuesday, she showed that she's back to her imperious best, with a resounding 11-5, 11-9, 11-4 win over world No.2 Raneem El Welily in Ohio.
It is the perfect comeback for Nicol who did not drop a single set in the Cleveland meet as she bagged her 79th professional title.
The Penangite will next compete in the Windy City Open in Chicago from Feb 24-March 4.
