Malaysia Will Be The Team To Beat In World League Second Round - Singapore Coach

SINGAPORE, Jan 19 (Bernama) -- Singapore coach Solomon Cassojee regards Malaysia are the biggest name and most experienced team in the World League Second Round.

Cassojee said it would not be easy for Singapore to beat Malaysia if they did not improve their skills by leaps and bound.

"We do not have the skill. If we want to beat Malaysia, we have to be better in skills. When we face a bigger team, the ball skill must be better than today's match.

"Malaysia is different than Singapore, they practice at least five hours a day...we are not like them. They are good," he told reporters after their match against Ukraine at the Sengkang Hockey Stadium, here, today.

Singapore lost to Ukraine 1-2 and will meet Malaysia in the next Group A match tomorrow.

Singapore's only goal was scored by Muhammad Haseef Salim in the 47th minute while Ukraine scored through Oleksandr Diachenko (44th min) and Viacheslav Paziuk (56th min).

Singapore captain, Enrico Marican said despite two loses in as many matches, their journey in World League was not over yet as they still have time to show their true colours.

"We have to work hard. Now we got each others back, what's over is over...now we have to focus on the next task - meeting Malaysia," he said.
