The assurance was given by Perlis Mentri Besar Azlan Man.
Even Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, who visited the Kangar Sports Complex four days ago, said that the two stadiums would be ready before the Games begin on May 24.
But a check at the Kangar Sports Complex on Thursday revealed that there is still no roof on the aquatic centre and a lot of work still needs to be done in the surrounding area.
Sukma is a week away. This begs the question of whether both these stadiums will indeed be ready in time.
The construction began last year and yet both stadiums are still not completed.
Even if the two stadiums can be finished in time for the Games, have the organisers factored in time to thoroughly check if both stadiums are safe for our athletes and in proper working order?
This is the first time Perlis are hosting the Games, which began in 1986.
