Perlis Can Become Hub For Extreme, Endurance Cycling Activities - Tuanku Syed Faizuddin

KANGAR, May 15 (Bernama) -- The Raja Muda Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail expressed confidence that Perlis can become a hub for extreme and endurance cycling activities.

Speaking to reporters after launching the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Perlis endurance cycling race today, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said cycling activities can be listed among products to attract and promote tourism.

The availability of the track for extreme and endurance cycling activities can be moulded as an attractive package for extreme sport lovers, not only in Perlis but outside Perlis and internationally.

He said endurance cycling races do not have a big following because participants need special quality endurance bicycles which are expensive.

"However, the sport has already started to attract a healthy following. There are also groups of 'hardcore' extreme cycling sport lovers because it is a sport that tests the physical and mental strength of individuals," he said.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said involving in cycling as a hobby can enhance their physical ability, fitness and help lead a healthy lifestyle.

The 333m track has eight obstacles to test the endurance, ability and skill of participants.
