Rajagobal's Boys Suffer 0-2 Defeat To China

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- Harimau Malaya lost 0-2 to China in a friendly match at the Tianjin Stadium in China, on Tuesday.

China took the lead through Zheng Long's freekick in the 43rd minute before Yang Xu sealed the victory with a 57th minute strike to give interim coach Fu Bo a pleasant result.

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) had hoped to improve on the ranking of the national team through top class friendly matches, but the defeat would certainly be a big blow to such aspirations.

The National squad (Harimau Malaya) coached by Datuk K. Rajagobal are currently placed 162nd in the FIFA world ranking list.

The match against China was also part of the National team's preparations for the 2015 Asian Cup Group D Qualifying campaign against Bahrain on Oct 15 at the Shah Alam Stadium.

In the 2015 Asian Cup Qualifiers, Malaysia are third in Group D with three points from three matches.

Rajagobal's boys lost to Qatar 0-2 but bounced back to beat Yemen 2-1 but lost to Bahrain.
