Muslifah Eyes Golden Outing At SEA Games

KAZAN, (Russia), July 17 (Bernama) -- National shooter Muslifah Zulkifli wants to use the experience gained at the World University Games (Universiade 2013) here to win gold medals at the Myanmar SEA Games come December.

The 28-year-old who will be taking part in the 50m Rifle Prone event only managed a bronze in the event at the last SEA Games in Palembang, Indonesia in 2011.

"I need more training in strong wind conditions. The Thais performed well here because they are used to such conditions.

"Our (shooting squad) training in Langkawi (before coming to Kazan) was good but it will be better if we can train with shooters from top countries like Thailand," she told reporters here.

She said she planned to compete in the Thai open in October next and was awaiting official confirmation from the organisers.

On her performance here, Muslifah, who took part in the team event of the 50m Rifle Prone, said she was saddened that they were not able to contribute a medal for the country.

The team finished second last out of 14 teams.
