PUTRAJAYA, June 30 (Bernama) - National rider Loh Sea Keong,26, was crowned the overall winner of the Jelajah 1 Malaysia 2013 which ended here, Sunday.
The OCBC Singapore Continental Cycling Team based in Singapore retained the yellow jersey as the overall leader since stage two.
"I am very proud that a Malaysian rider has won the yellow jersey. My hard work finally paid off.
"I am grateful to my teammates and the other Malaysian riders," said Loh who received the yellow jersey from Putrajaya Corporation president Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat.
He also retained the blue jersey as the best Asian rider and the white jersey as the best Malaysian rider.
Loh who said he would try again to win the overall title in the next edition of the race.
After the Jelajah 1 Malaysia, his focus will be on the Tour of Borneo, Tour de East Java and the Tour of Hokkaido.
The final stage of the race was won by Samir Jabra Yilov of Azerbaijan (Synergy Baku Cycling Project) in 4:01:23s.
His last minute effort beat Ronald Oranza of the Philippines (LBC-MVPSF Cycling Pilipinas) and Galedo Mark Lexer of Team 7 Eleven Presented by Roadbike Philippines.
Team Synergy Baku Cycling Project emerged best overall team collecting 60:40:18s while the Malaysian national squad finished in sixth place collecting l 60:54:30s.
